Scouts

Scouts are for boys and girls between the ages 11 to 17 and meet every Thursday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Scout Hall in Little Glen .

The scout program is fun filled and teaches our young members teamwork ,perseverance and self management using the scout laws as our guide .At our weekly meetings the scouts are taught scouting skills and participate in patrol games .All these skills are used toward their advancement and gives them the skills to participate in regional competitions and ultimately become responsible citizens .

Below are some of the activities our troop regularly participate in:

  • Kontiki raft building competition
  • Gordon shield overnight camping competition
  • Quinn trophy day event with lots of fun family activities
  • Paint the Lion Purple where scouts ascend Lions head
  • Orienteering competitions
  • Patrol and Troop camps in and around the Western Cape
  • Patrol and Troop hikes in and around the Western Cape
  • Community service projects
  • Sailing
  • Camp Fires
  • Numerous badge courses that cover a wide variety of subjects in land ,sea and air scouting.
  • City nature challenge
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
